According to Water Resource Management Department under the Vietnamese Environment Ministry, the average groundwater levels in Da Nang fell sharply in February, in comparison with the previous month. 

The level of groundwater is monitored by special measuring instruments within so called monitoring wells with a small diameter drilled into the ground, which are used for level monitoring of groundwater and water quality analysis.

The groundwater level in Da Nang is expected to continue with its downward trend in the coming time amid the severe drought situation.
