According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the blazing heat is hitting Da Nang and elsewhere in the north and mid-central region. The hot weather is forecast to maintain its grip on these localities until next Monday (22 April).

The hot spell is resulted from the influence of the developing southern low pressure trough associated with a strong foehn wind in the southwest region.

Starting from tomorrow, 19 April, the heat wave will expand to north-western and central provinces with the highest temperatures ranging from 35 to 37 degrees Celsius.

In the mountainous areas of central provinces, the temperatures will hover at between 38 and 39 degrees Celsius in the daytime, even above 40 degrees Celsius in some parts of the central region.

Blistering heatwave conditions will affect the northern delta and midland provinces with the average temperatures of between 34 to 37 degrees Celsius in the daytime, and over 35 degree Celsius in some parts of these localities, especially from noon until 4.00pm.

From now until 22 April, southern provinces are set to see sunny weather in the daytime with the temperatures hovering at 35-36 degrees Celsius, with temperatures of over 35 degrees from noon to 4.00pm.
