The poor boy’s mother left home many years ago. He is now receiving treatment for tuberculosis at the Da Nang Hospital for Lung Disease.
Aside from his lung disease, he is also suffering an intestinal problem as a pocket of pus is located inside his stomach, which causes him not to eat and drink normally.
Initiated by the municipal Journalists’ Association, the programme has attracted lots of public donations to help those in need, including reporters in difficult circumstances, since its inception last October.
