Fishing boat towed to safety after engine failure
A total of 9 fishermen from Da Nang were brought to the city’s mainland safely on Wednesday after their boat had broken down at sea.
On Monday afternoon, fishing boat DNa 90845 TS from Nai Hien Dong Ward, Son Tra District, Da Nang suffered an engine failure whilst it was operating about 60 nautical miles east of the Nhat Le Beach in the central province of Quang Binh. They faced strong southwesternly winds of levels 2-3, and rough seas at that time.
Having received an SOS message, the Viet Nam Coastal Information Station, in a prompt fashion, reported the incident to search and rescue agencies for timely support, and asked fishing vessels operating in the vicinity to enhance their observation and give timely assistance to the distressed vessel pending the arrival of rescue units.
Finally, the distressed boat was then towed back to the mainland safely by another one from the same city, DNa 91169 TS.
