The Da Nang authorities have recently approved a project on breastfeeding best practice guidelines in the city.
The 460 million VND project is funded by the Family Health International (FHI360) Viet Nam through the Alive and Thrive programme.
Accordingly, the project is being carried out in 3 district-level medical centres in Hai Chau, Cam Le, and Son Tra, and the Da Nang Family Hospital, from 1 July 2019 to 31 May 2021.
The purpose of the project is to increase the number of newborns who are breastfed early as soon as possible after birth, within the first hour after delivery, by encouraging the medical facilities to comply with the Ministry of Health's guidelines on breastfeeding, early essential newborn care and Kangaroo care method.
