The newly-released python |
Previously, the python had been captured from an unidentified man in Son Tra District. Then, the man had been encouraged to hand over the animal to the Division in order to release it back into the wild.
It is known that the python has a scientific name as Python molurus. It belongs to Group IIB which features rare animals restricted from being held in captivity, hunted, traded or killed.
