About 200m² of vegetation and dry grass were destroyed as fire broke out at 5.30pm on Sunday at taluses at the Mui Sung area on the Son Tra Peninsula in Da Nang.

As soon as receiving a report about the fire from local residents, police officers, border guard forces and firefighters in Son Tra District, plus one fire engine, arrived at the scene.

Thanks to the great efforts of the firefighters, the blaze was completely extinguished at 6.15pm on the same day.

Initial investigation showed that the cause of the incident was thought to be that local residents burned incense and paper offerings at the Mui Sung area.

The incident is still under investigation.
