A 3kg python was released back into the Ba Na - Nui Chua special-use forest in Da Nang by forest rangers of the Hoa Vang District Forest Ranger Division on Thursday afternoon.

Previously, Mr Tran Van Hoa residing in Phu Hoa 1 Village, Hoa Nhon Commune, Hoa Vang District, had handed over the python to the district’s forest rangers in order to release it back into the wild after buying the animal from an unidentified man.
It is known that the python has a scientific name as Python molurus. It belongs to Group IIB which features rare animals restricted from being held in captivity, hunted, traded or killed.
