A checkpoint has been set up at the Da Son slaughterhouse in Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang, in order to contain further spread of the novel coronavirus.

Staff at the checkpoint will check the body temperature of visitors to the slaughterhouse, impose administrative fines on violators for not wearing face masks, and advise slaughters to keep a safe distance from each other.

Mr Pham Tuan Anh, Director of the city-based Livestock and Poultry Process JSC, remarked the Da Son slaughterhouse has taken drastic actions to prevent the spread of the deadly virus. Included are intensifying the cleanup, disinfection and sterilisation activities around the slaughterhouse, and reducing the number of visitors to the slaughterhouse. Also, slaughters and traders are required to wear face masks while they are in the slaughterhouse.
