The Da Nang authorities are adopting stronger measures to tackle the spread of the virus in the city.

In focus, the city is enforcing health screening measures at Da Nang International Airport and ports.

Staff of the airport and ports along with the city’s Health Department are working together to conduct temperature checks on all passengers there. Anyone found to have a fever of more than 38 degrees Celsius will be placed in airport and port isolation areas, and then sent to the city’s designated sites, for mandatory isolation and virus tests following the Ministry of Health's guidelines.

Since late January, the city has welcomed a combined total of 237,577 passengers from 2,525 flights from abroad, and 112 cruise ships.

From 15 March until now, healthcare workers and security personnel at 7 checkpoints have implemented temperature screening for a total of 150,855 arrivals to the city. 23 of them, who have had symptoms of coronavirus such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath, have been sent to district-level medical centres for treatment.

More than 50% of administrative procedures have been implemented online to curb the spread of coronavirus.

In addition to raising public awareness about the city’s drastic measures to prevent the spread of the virus following the Vietnamese PM's guidelines, relevant local agencies have strictly handled violation cases.

Fines totalling 140 million have been imposed on 13 residents for sharing false information about the coronavirus on social networks.

Besides, 151 production and business establishments have been fined 87.7 million VND in total for violating the city’s regulations about production and business activities during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Also, 453 violators have been imposed fines of over 311 million VND in total for fleeing from quarantine sites, not wearing face masks in public places, and ignoring social distancing guidance following the coronavirus pandemic.
