This positive result was mainly attributed to great efforts of local authorities and relevant agencies in raising public awareness about the city’s drastic measures to prevent the spread of the virus following the Vietnamese PM's guidelines.

Fines totalling over 311 million VND have been imposed on 453 violators for fleeing from quarantine sites, not wearing face masks in public places, and ignoring social distancing guidance following the coronavirus pandemic.

Since 21 January, 31 local residents have been reminded about sharing false information about the coronavirus on social networks. 14 of them have been imposed fines of more than 140 million VND in total.

In addition, the municipal government has announced a 30 billion VND bailout for those affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Those who made great contributions to the nation's revolutionary cause, and are receiving monthly social allowances will get 500,000 VND per month.

Each of families living below and near the city's poverty threshold will receive 250,000 VND per month. Specifically, social policy beneficiaries living in below and near the city's poverty threshold will get 500,000 VND per month.

Besides, generous individuals and organisations across the city have donated more than 5.7 billion VND in cash, 20 tonnes of rice and other necessary goods to those who are financially struggling amid the coronavirus crisis.
