Da Nang Journalists' Association receives over 600 million VND in donations to support frontline workers in Covid-19 fight
After more than one month of launching a fundraising campaign to support frontliners in Covid-19 fight, the Da Nang Journalists’ Association has raised over 600 million VND in both cash and in-kind donations from generous organisations, individuals, businesses and journalists nationwide.
In particular, the Association has received 358 million VND in cash support from generous philanthropists, including 20 million VND from the fund of the 'Ly Ca Phe Yeu Thuong' (Cup of Compassion Coffee) programme launched by the Da Nang Journalists’ Association.
Also, the Association has received about 60,000 4-layer face masks, 96 XC 99 masks, 260 coronavirus protective suits, 490 anti-drop caps, 48 bottles of hand sanitizer (500ml), 500 bottles of Cordyceps drinks, 30 carton boxes of energy drinks, 1,000 bottles of Vina Mask salt water (500ml), 2,000 bottles of hand sanitizer (100ml), and 150kg of coffee powder.
Over the past month, the municipal Journalists' Association has distributed 55,000 surgical masks and 1,300 bottles of hand sanitizer to Covid-19 task forces across the city.
Also, 1,000 bottles of Vina Mask salt water (500ml) have been distributed to the Hoa Vang Field Hospital for Covid-19 patients, 500 kilos of vegetables and fruits to the authorities of Hoa Vang and Lien Chieu districts, and more than 300 million VND to staff who are on the frontline in the battle against the virus.
The Association has provided reporters citywide with more than 1,800 free portions of meals, and hundreds of protective items such as surgical masks, coronavirus protective suits and anti-drop caps.
