2,000 willow trees were planted on a beach in Hoa Hiep Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang on Monday in a tree-planting campaign launched by the Da Nang Farmers’ Association.

Officers and men of the Hai Van Border Guard Station joined the campaign to plant trees in an effort to stop coastal erosion. Willow trees will provide a natural defence against coastal erosion.

Previously, 10,000 willow trees had been planted on beaches in Lien Chieu District as part of a citywide tree-planting strategy.
