On the spotlight of a recent scientific seminar were the most effective possible action plans and solutions to turn Da Nang into an environmentally-friendly city over the 2021 - 2030 period. The event was co-hosted by the municipal Department of Natural Resources and the Environment and the Da Nang University of Science and Technology.

The event saw a briefing by experts from the HCM City Environmental Technology Centre, the project’s consultants on the environmentally-friendly city building criteria regarding the water, air, and soil quality parameters, green space and solid waste management. Besides, a list of 53 action plans and proposed solutions for realising Da Nang’s ambition was presented at the event.

In particular, scientists from the Da Nang University of Science and Technology unanimously suggested that a focus be placed on realising the goals of developing Da Nang into an environmentally-friendly city by 2025 in a bid to lay a foundation for becoming an eco-city in the near future.

Delivering his instructions at the seminar, Director of the Da Nang Department of Natural Resources and the Environment To Van Hung urged the project’s consultants to make the appropriate adjustments and supplements to the aforementioned criteria for the environmentally-friendly city building ambition. 

Over the past decade, the city has received many national and international awards and certificates in recognition of its active involvement in urban management, environmental protection, and climate change adaptation.
