At 10 am on Wednesday, typhoon Molave began to strike parts of Da Nang, especially its eastern coastal areas, with gusty winds and heavy rain.

Large waves hailing from the sea ceaselessly washed upon ashore whilst rainwater spilled over Vo Nguyen Giap coastal route, and many trees fell down on roads due to the storm-triggered hurricane-force winds.

Meanwhile, some homes in Da Nang had their roofs blown off, and a light pillar fell down at the intersection of 3 February - Dong Da streets.

Till now, no human casualties have been reported across the city during this powerful typhoon’s rampage.

Data published by Da Nang Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, and Search and Rescue show that an additional 3,000 people across Da Nang were evacuated to safety on Wednesday morning, bringing the total figure to 95,236.
