The plane bringing 356 Vietnamese passengers home from the U.S. touched down at the Da Nang International Airport last night, Sunday.

Amongst the arrivals are those who are under 18, seniors, ill persons, and students who completed their courses but lacked accommodation due to dormitory closures, and others with extremely difficult circumstances

All of the passengers had their health checked before boarding, wore face masks throughout the flight and submitted their health declarations.

More than 230 of these repatriated citizens are now put under quarantine at the city-based hotels, whilst the rest are in dedicated quarantine facilities in neighbouring Quang Nam Province’s Thang Binh District.

All passengers and flight crews will have their swab and blood serum samples taken for coronavirus testing, Doctor Ton That Thanh, Director of the Da Nang Centre for Disease Control has said.

More repatriation flights are scheduled to be arranged basing on overseas Vietnamese’s wishes, the pandemic’s developments, and domestic quarantine capacity.

Viet Nam has reported 68th consecutive day with no community transmission. Till date, coronavirus recoveries in Viet Nam have reached 1,070.
