Addressing the recent handover ceremony at the Yangon International Airport, Vietnamese Ambassador to Myanmar Ly Quoc Tuan re-affirmed Viet Nam’s great concern and active support for its friends in cases of hardships and challenges.
The Vietnamese diplomat also expressed his strong belief that Mandalay Region will overcome difficulties sparked by the deeply concerning pandemic as soon as possible.
Mr U Zaw Lin, a representative of the Mandalay authorities, expressed his deep gratitude to the government and people of Viet Nam, especially Da Nang, for meaningful and timely assistance given to Mandalay, and Myanmar at large, in the context of many difficulties and challenges facing the country, and the region in particular.
Most notably, the latest donation marks the fourth batch of medical supplies that Viet Nam has presented to Myanmar.
Previously, the Vietnamese government had sent over 90,000 US$, 160,000 surgical face masks, antiseptic solutions, and medical equipment to Myanmar.
Also in a supportive move, Vietnamese businesses operating in Myanmar also made donations of more than 25,000 US$ and 10,000 face masks in an effort to support the country in responding to this unprecedented crisis.
