Bringing a warm and happy Tet to the poor
Many charity programmes have been carried out by Da Nang-based government departments, agencies, and organisations in Quang Nam Province in an effort to bring a warm and happy Tet to the poor and the disadvantage.

In mid-January, the Hoa Minh Ward chapter of the Da Nang Youth Union organised a ‘Spring of Love’ charity programme in Tra Leng Commune, Nam Tra My District, Quang Nam Province.
Ho Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh, Secretary of the Hoa Minh Ward chapter of the Da Nang Youth Union, said Tra Leng Commune now has 597 families with a combined total of 2,503 people. All most of the commune’s residents depend directly on cinnamon cultivation and livestock breeding for their livelihood.
Storm Molave, along with serious landslides, which both occurred in late October 2020, pushed thousands of local residents towards the brink of poverty. Such natural disasters left dozens of people dead and missing, and hundreds of houses in the commune damaged. Besides, the commune was isolated for a long time, so the lives of local people became more difficult.
In its effort to support local affected residents, the Hoa Minh Ward chapter of the Da Nang Youth Union donated 50 cash gifts of one million VND each to poor residents in the commune.

Apart from this charity trip, the organisation plans to present Tet gifts to its poor member, and spruce up martyrs' cemeteries, and clean up some streets and residential areas, in the locality.
With the burning desire to help poor residents in Quang Nam Province’s Tra Lap Commune celebrate a warm and happy Tet, the Hoa Tho Tay Ward chapter in Hai Chau District of the Da Nang Women Union, on 15 January, presented 4 goats to poor families and 15 Tet gifts to poor women.
Also, 55 other Tet gifts were distributed to poor families in the commune. Each gift, consisting of warm clothes, blankets and other necessities, was great encouragement to poor families, making their Tet festival warmer and happier.
On 19 January, the Hoa Thuan Tay Ward of Da Nang Youth Union partnered with some relevant agencies to give in-kind Tet gifts, worth 300,000 VND each, to poor families in the ward.
