Young man rescued after his plunge off cliff
A 25-year-old male resident in Da Nang has been safely rescued after his scooter accident causing him to plunge off a cliff on his way to the Son Tra Peninsula-based Linh Ung Pagoda, Da Nang Police said.

As reported, at around 9.30pm on 22 January, the man was driving his scooter when it lost control and suddenly crashed into an anti-erosion talus on one side of the route leading to the pagoda.
A group of rescuers from the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Division under Da Nang Police Department arrived at the scene in a prompt fashion, right after receiving the SOS message from the witnesses.
After some hours of efforts, the victim were safely pulled from the cliff, and then rushed to hospital for treatment of his broken leg.
The Da Nang authorities have warned locals and tourists against the use of scooters to approach attractions on the Son Tra Peninsula following a number of deadly accidents involving scooters.
The issue of riders’ safety has been in the spotlight following a series of accidents despite authorities' warnings the area is dangerous due to twisting and sloping roads leading to the peninsula.
