Launched by the Da Nang Trade Union, the campaign aimed to help ensure blood supply for public hospitals across the city to use for emergencies and treatment in light of the complicated developments of the coronavirus pandemic.
Blood donors were required to have their body temperature checked, fill out medical declarations, and strictly practise the Health Ministry-mandated 5K (in Vietnamese) motto: namely ‘Khau trang’ (Face mask) - ‘Khu khuan’ (Disinfection) - ‘Khoang cach’ ‘Distance’ - ‘Khong tu tap’ (No gatherings) - ‘Khai bao y te’ (Health Declaration) in a bid to prevent the spread of the virus.
As a result, a combined total of 515 units of blood were collected at the event.
Another blood donation campaign is scheduled to be launched by the Da Nang Trade Union in August this year.
