Da Nang government on Thursday issued a regulation regarding the reception and the quarantine of Vietnamese returnees arriving in the city in the coming time. The move aims to ensure the effective coordination in the reception of Vietnamese returnees via the Da Nang International Airport and in self-paid quarantine operations at local hotels which serve as temporary quarantine facilities.

As per request by the municipal government, from April 14 through May 31, relevant local agencies only receive and provide mandatory quarantine for overseas Vietnamese arrivals on flights organised by enterprises whose quarantine plans are approved by the municipal authorities.

Meanwhile, the reception and quarantine of foreign experts, and diplomatic and official passport holders, will be maintained in line with the current Viet Nam's national regulations.

After May 31, if there are more than two flights from foreign destinations per week, the Da Nang Health Department will propose quarantine plans to the municipal government.

Da Nang, in recent times, has received commercial repatriation flights taking home thousands of Vietnamese citizens, causing the city's healthcare sector to face quarantine overload, especially putting medical staff under pressure at work.
