All 1,376 staff members at the Da Nang Administrative Centre have tested negative for COVID-19, the Da Nang Center for Disease Control (CDC) anounced on Sunday evening.
Medical workers collected a throat and nasal swab of all staff members at the Da Nang Administrative Centre on Sunday morning. |
Earlier on Sunday morning, medial workers from the Hai Chau District Medical Centre and the Da Nang Cancer Hospital took a throat and nasal swab of these people to test for the virus.
This came as a close contact to a patient with confirmed COVID-19 is working in this centre. However, tests on her have come back negative for the virus.
Test, trace and isolate are the main pillars of Da Nang’s COVID-19 control measures. Hence, the Da Nang CDC has performed a 'pooled test' with samples of up to 10 people in order to save time and resources, as well as to get the pandemic under control. If pooled sample is positive all individual samples in that “pool” group are tested. If the pooled sample is negative assume all samples within the pool are negative.
Amid the complex developments of COVID-19, the Da Nang Administrative Centre has already put in place the strictest health measures in order to protect the safety of the centre’s staff and its visitors.
