Arrivals from COVID-19 affected areas required to pay for hotel quarantine in Da Nang
The Da Nang government has agreed the proposals for adjustments to the quarantine policy for people entering and returning to the city from areas affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, Da Nang People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh on Monday afternoon said.

In order to limit the risk of re-introduction or importation of the deadly virus into Da Nang, the new rules have been drawn up regarding the duty to stay at a quarantine hotel. People arriving in Da Nang from affected areas will have to pay for their compulsory COVID-19 hotel quarantine for 21 days.
Mr Chinh highlighted the role of intersectoral coordination and Community COVID-19 Task Force in tightening oversight of arrivals from affected areas at points of entry and across the city.
The city government leader called on officials to enforce health declaration and quarantine rules on people arriving in Da Nang from affected areas in a bid to manage effectively the risk of COVID-19 in the city.
“The Department of Tourism must work with the health agency and police to put in place strictest health measures at quarantine hotels in an attempt to make these venues COVID-secure ", remarked Chairman Chinh.
The city leader demanded relevant agencies to make proposals for providing timely support for people who are working at the front line of Da Nang's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The Da Nang government will carefully look at latest advice and specific risk assessments from relevant agencies in order to consider easing COVID-19 restrictions after the national high school graduation examination ends in the city. The top priority will be given to lifting ban on certain activities and services where operators and involved persons have been already vaccinated”, Chairman Chinh noted.
Da Nang on Monday (July 5) reported no new locally acquired cases of COVID-19, the Da Nang Centre for Disease Control (CDC)’s figure shows. Thus, the total cases in Da Nang remain at 91 after the city experienced a resurgence of the virus on June 18.
Da Nang on Monday quarantined 45 arrivals from affected areas, bringing the total number of these quarantined people in the city to 471 till date.
Doctor Ton That Thanh, the Director of the Da Nang CDC on Monday afternoon said that tests on 15,220 who are test takers, exams officers and other staff involved in exam delivery have come back negative for the virus while all people related to some potential exposure sites in the city, namely the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf and wet markets have also tested negative.
