A Da Nang truck driver faces VND 7.5 million fine for breaching quarantine rule

The Thanh Khe District authorities have issued an administrative fine of VND 10 million to a 43 year-old man who residing in An Khe Ward for breaking the city’s COVID-19 infection prevention and control guidelines.

The man who drives a truck transporting goods on the Da Nang – Ho Chi Minh route returned home in Da Nang on September 26. He got a negative result from antigen rapid test at a checkpoint for entry into Da Nang but he had a positive result from repeat testing on September 30 before his next driving trip.

Strict managed isolation is compulsory for all drivers of vehicles from other Vietnamese localities to Da Nang if they want to stay in the city for more than 12 hours after arrival.

However, the man failed to quarantine according to the rules and he stayed at home from September 26-30.

He now faces a maximum penalty of VND 10 million for breaking mandatory quarantine rule after returning from COVID-19 affected area.
