Da Nang recorded 2 new case of COVID-19 today, October 5, both of which were detected in designated quarantine facilities.

No new community transmission case was recorded today.

The 2 above-mentioned patients, residing in alley No. 223 Truong Chinh Street, An Khe Ward, Thanh Khe District, were respectively the wife and child of the driver of a cargo truck on the Da Nang - Ho Chi Minh City route who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on September 30.

The newly-detected duo have received the first shot of COVID-19 vaccines and tested negative for the virus for the first time on September 30.

During the same day, 13,043 people had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, of whom 10,470 tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to rapid antigen tests whilst entering the city through the city’s gateway checkpoints.

Till date, the number of blockaded areas linked to previous COVID-19 cases has declined to only 4, housing 226 households with a combined total of 907 residents.

Up to now, 53 out of the total 56 communes and wards citywide have been labelled as ‘green’ ones which are now free from the virus.

Thanh Khe District: the wards of Hoa Khe, Thanh Khe Dong, Thac Gian, Chinh Gian, Xuan Ha, Thanh Khe Tay, Tan Chinh, Vinh Trung, Tam Thuan.

Since July 10 when the current COVID-19 wave started in Da Nang, 4,673 active cases have been documented citywide.
