Wholeheartedly devote himself to fulfill duties as Commander of the Tien Sa Port border gate's guard station

The Drug and Crime Control Department under the Command of Border Guard, has recently presented a certificate of merit to Major Pham Dinh An, Commander of the Tien Sa Port border gate's guard station for his outstanding achievements in coordinating the fight against smuggling and trade fraud, contributing to maintaining political security, social order and safety.

Over the last few years, Tien Sa port border gate has significantly increased the flow of ships, tourists as well as goods. In particular, hundreds of cars entering and exiting the port to import and export cargos on a daily basis leads to the complication in security here.

Therefore,  Major Pham Dinh An has directed the unit to strengthen patrolling, controlling and managing this region, in tandem with proactively grasping activities of various types of traffickers to prevent and handle violations in a timely manner.

In mid-July, the Da Nang Port Border Guard in collaboration with other units to investigate container housing horns and bones of animals but falsely claiming to transport wood imported from Africa to Viet Nam. After several days of investigating, Mr An, his teammates, as well as the inter-sectoral force, discovered more than 138kg of animal horns suspected to be rhino horns, more than 3.1 tons of animal bones suspected to be bones of animals on the list of wild fauna and flora specified in the appendices to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES))

Prior to that, Major Pham Dinh An directly participated in the Anti-Smuggling Investigation with the secret number No. A2-1120. Mr An and the functional forces stopped and checked 2 container trucks driven by drivers in Quang Nam and discovered cosmetics, alcohol, dietary supplements worth approximately VND 14.5 billion which did not match the customs declaration.

Moreover, when dealing with COVID-19 prevention and control duties, Major Pham Dinh An directed officers and soldiers of the Tien Sa Port border gate's guard station to proactively develop a process of COVID-19 prevention and control, raise the alert level to the highest, strictly manage activities at entry and exit gates, and check medical declaration at Tien Sa port gate to join hands with the city in the fight against the pandemic

With such these outstanding achievements, it is understandable that Major Pham Dinh An was awarded a certificate of merit by the Drug and Crime Control Department under the Command of Border Guard
In general, Major Pham Dinh An has successfully completed all the tasks assigned by leaders of the Da Nang Port Border Guard and the Da Nang Border Guard Command, contributing to protecting the firm sovereignty and territorial integrity in tandem with our national border security in the new setting.
