Da Nang recorded only one new case of COVID-19 today, October 2, which was found in a designated quarantine facility, the Da Nang Steering Board for COVID-19 Prevention and Control freshly confirmed. No new community transmission case was recorded today.

The aforementioned case was linked to the previously-detected COVID-19 infection chain in alley No. 90 Dong Da Street, Thuan Phuoc Ward, Hai Chau District.

During the same day, 83, 024 people had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, of whom 81, 071 tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to rapid antigen tests whilst entering the city through the city’s gateway checkpoints.

Currently, there are only 7 blockaded areas linked to previous COVID-19 cases, housing 319 households with a combined total of 1,027 residents.

Till date, 50 out of the total 56 communes and wards citywide have been labelled as ‘green zones’ where neither community-acquired cases nor locked-down sites have been logged over the past 14 days as follow:

Hoa Vang District: the communes of Hoa Bac, Hoa Khuong, Hoa Tien, Hoa Phu, Hoa Lien, Hoa Nhon, Hoa Phong, Hoa Phuoc, Hoa Ninh and Hoa Chau.

Son Tra District: the wards of An Hai Bac, Man Thai, An Hai Tay, Phuoc My, Nai Hien Dong, Tho Quang and An Hai Dong

Ngu Hanh Son District: the wards of Hoa Quy, Hoa Hai, My An and Khue MyHai Chau District: the wards of Phuoc Ninh, Nam Duong, Hai Chau 1, Hoa Cuong Nam, Binh Hien, Hoa Thuan Dong, Hoa Thuan Tay, Hoa Cuong Bac, Thach Thang, Hai Chau 2 and Thanh Binh

Thanh Khe District: the wards of Hoa Khe, Thanh Khe Dong, Thac Gian, Chinh Gian, Xuan Ha, Thanh Khe Tay, Tan Chinh, Vinh Trung and Tam Thuan

Cam Le District: the wards of Khue Trung, Hoa Tho Tay, Hoa Phat, Hoa Tho Dong, Hoa Xuan, and Hoa An
Lien Chieu District: the wards of Hoa Minh, Hoa Hiep Nam and Hoa Hiep Bac

Since July 10 when the current COVID-19 wave started in Da Nang, 4,669 active cases have been documented citywide.
