Da Nang started its immunisation drive on Tuesday, October 5 with 100,000 doses of Vero Cell vaccine manufactured by the Beijing Institute of Biological Products Co Ltd (BIBP), China, under Sinopharm, the Da Nang Department of Health has announced. The rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine will last until October 8.

All those aged 18 or over that haven't received a jab yet will get their first life-saving COVID-19 jab to protect themselves, their friends and their family.

The vaccine is being offered to workers in industrial parks, employees in businesses, government departments and agencies, along with foreign nationals who are staying in Da Nang. High priority is being given to administering the vaccine to people aged 50 and over, those in high-risk settings and crowded residential areas.

Latest figures show 725,488 residents have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 91,247 have had both as of October 4, giving them maximum protection against the deadly virus. In total, 816,695 vaccinations have now been delivered in the city.
