Potential storm likely to rage on the East Sea next week

On October 1, the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control sent an urgent dispatch to coastal localities from Quang Ninh to Khanh Hoa to proactively respond to the possibility of a storm over the East Sea next week.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the highly active tropical convergent strip over the eastern waters in the middle of the East Sea (close to the Philippines, a would-be tropical depression will appear on October 5 - 6. Accordingly, it is likely move northwest and then strengthen into a storm over the East Sea on October 7 - 8.

The Standing Office of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control urged coastal provinces and cities to closely monitor the expected developments, track and forecasts about the potential storm over the East Sea for proactive response.

Focus should be on calculating and calling on all fishing ships operating in areas expected to be affected by the storm to move out of the potentially dangerous areas or seek shelter.
