Da Nang COVID-19 daily tally rises to 44 on Nov.20, including 10 in the community

Da Nang recorded 44 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, November 20, ten of which were logged in the community, two found in centralised quarantine facilities, 28 during mandatory at-home quarantine, one in a locked-down residential site and the remaining three at quarantine checkpoints set up at the city’s gateways, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control confirmed.

Below is need-to-know information on the ten community-based cases:

There was a community-acquired patients permanently residing on Duong Ba Cung Street, Hoa Xuan Ward, Cam Le District.

Another patient was a returnee from the coronavirus-stricken Ho Chi Minh City. This person tested for the virus by the Hoan My Hospital staff at the Minh Toan Ocean Hotel.

A resident on Ham Tu Street, My An Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District was confirmed to be infected with the virus after having returned from the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang.

A dweller on Man Quang 8 Street, Tho Quang Ward, Son Tra District was diagnosed with the highly contagious disease. This person worked at the Huu Nghi Company where an active case had been previously detected.

An inhabitant on Ong Ich Khiem Street, Hai Chau 2 Ward, Hai Chau District who lives next to the Mr. Tin pub where a positive case of COVID-19 had previously visited.

Five cases were founded on Tran Cao Van Street, Thanh Khe Dong Ward, Thanh Khe District; on Luong Ngoc Quyen Street, Thuan Phuoc Ward, Hai Chau District; on Nguyen Mong Tuan Street, Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District; in residential group No. 4, Dong Hoa, Hoa Chau Commune, Hoa Vang District, and in residential group No.14, Hoa Tho Tay Ward, Cam Le District, respectively, also tested positive for the coronavirus.

The cases recorded on Saturday  were linked 12 chains of infection, nine of which are highly transmissible.

In particular, 33 out of the 44 cases of COVID-19 in were likely to spread to the community, recorded in the total seven districts, namely Son Tra with 19 cases, Hai Chau with six, Thanh Khe, Hoa Vang and Cam Le with two each, and Ngu Hanh Son, Lien Chieu with one each.

Also on Friday, a combined total of 11,561  local residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, 10,691 of whom tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.

Up to now, 1,468,097 out of the already received 1,512,916 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered to Da Nang residents.

Of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 904,487 have received the first shots of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 563,610 have got the second jabs against the highly contagious disease.

There are currently 84 completely- blockaded residential areas, putting 911 households with a combined total of 3,669 people under lockdown.

A combined total of 1,954 people are put under compulsory quarantine in 19 centralised facilities.
Da Nang has recorded 466 positive cases since October 16 when the current coronavirus wave started hitting it.
