Da Nang logs 15 community infections among 32 new COVID-19 cases on Nov. 22
Da Nang recorded 32 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, November 22, 15 of which were logged in the community, five found in centralised quarantine facilities, nine during mandatory at-home quarantine, two locked-down residential sites and the remaining one at a quarantine checkpoint set up at the city’s gateway, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control confirmed.
Out of the 15 community-based cases, one each was respectively found in 13 residential places, namely To Huu Street (Khue Trung Ward, Cam Le District with previous exposure to a COVID-19- infected native of neighbouring Quang Nam Province; on Nguyen Cu Trinh Street (Hoa Cuong Bac Ward, Hai Chau District; in An Ngai Dong Village (Hoa Son Commune, Hoa Vang District with linkage to the Victory pub where an active case had been confirmed; in residential group No. 35 (Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District); on Phan Van Dinh Street (Hoa Khanh Bac Ward) with the place of work being the Viet Hoa company; on Lac Long Quan Street (Hoa Khanh Bac Ward) with exposure to the infection chain in the Viet Hoa company; on Dong Tri 6 Street (Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District; on Da Son Street (Hoa Khanh Nam Ward); on Khanh Son Street (Hoa Khanh Nam Ward) with the place of work being the Viet Hoa company; on To Hieu Street (Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District) with trade activities at the Hoa Khanh Market; on Binh Ky Street (Hoa Quy Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District) with the place of work being the Victory pub); on Yet Kieu Street (Tho Quang Ward, Son Tra District and on Nguyen Dang Tuyen Street (Tho Quang Ward, Son Tra District) with the place of work being the Huu Nghi company.
The remaining two were logged on Au Co Street (Hoa Khanh Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District), working at the Viet Hoa Company where positive cases of coronavirus had previously been detected.
The cases recorded on Monday were linked 14 chains of infection, 12 of which are highly transmissible, local medical experts warned.
In particular, 22 out of the 32 cases of COVID-19 in were likely to spread to the community, recorded in six out of the total seven districts, namely Lien Chieu with ten cases, Son Tra with five, Hai Chau woith three, Thanh Khe, Ngu Hanh Son,m Cam Le and Hoa Vang with one each.
Also on Friday, a combined total of 10,678 local residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, 9,683 of whom tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.
Up to now, 1,533,189 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered to Da Nang residents.
Of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 932,545 have received the first shots of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 600,644 have got the second jabs against the highly contagious disease.
There are currently 89 completely- blockaded residential areas, putting 976 households with a combined total of 3,927 people under lockdown.
A combined total of 815 people are put under compulsory quarantine in 18 centralised facilities.
Da Nang has recorded 535 infections, 71 of which were returnees from other cities and provinces nationwide, since October 16 when the city saw the resurgence of COVID-19 community-based cases.
