Da Nang sees daily COVID-19 caseload rise to 92, including 38 logged in community on Nov. 26
Da Nang recorded 92 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, November 26, 38 of which were found in the community, six in local centralised quarantine facilities, 44 during at-home quarantine, three in locked-down residential sites and the remaining one at a quarantine checkpoint set up at the city’s gateway, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said in its latest bulletin.
Of the 38 community infections of COVID-19, 17 were workers who were confirmed to contract SARS-CoV-2 through testing conducted at businesses where positive cases of coronavirus had previously been found, namely the Huu Nghi Company with 14 cases, Thuan Phuoc seafood company with one and FUJIKURA based in the Hoa Cam Industrial Park with two.
Also, 19 people had intentionally gone in-person to some medical facilities citywide for COVID-19 testing due to their displaying of some suspicious symptoms and they then tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 there. In detail, four cases were logged via tests at the Da Nang-based Hospital 199, under the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security, three in the Family Hospital, two each at the Hoan My Hospital and the Thien Nhan Clinic, and one each at the Tam Tri Hospital, the Da Nang C Hospital, the Thanh Khe, Hai Chau and Hoa Vang district-level medical centres, the Health Station of Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District and the Pasteur Clinic.
Also, a positive case was confirmed during mass testing applied to staff on duty at restaurants and eateries in Thuan Phuoc Ward, Hai Chau District.
A member of the Management Board of Hai Chau District Markets working at an office in Moi Market was infected with the virus.
The cases recorded on Friday were related to 22 highly contiguous infection chains. In particular, 65 out of the 92 cases of COVID-19 on Friday were highly likely to spread to the community, recorded in the total seven districts, namely Hai Chau with 17 cases, Son Tra with 16, Thanh Khe with nine, Lien Chieu, Cam Le and Hoa Vang with six each, and Ngu Hanh Son with five.
Also on Friday, a combined total of 15,372 local residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, 13,802 of whom tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.
Da Nang has recorded 818 infections, 92 of which were returnees from other cities and provinces nationwide, since October 16 when the city saw the resurgence of COVID-19 community-based cases.
