Police in Da Nang have recently arrested two men after six months on the run for tricking 175 people into labor export scam in May in the city.

Previously, in mid-May, the Central Regional Drug-Related Crime Prevention and Control Task Force under the Bureau of Drug-Related Crime Prevention and Control of the Border Guard teamed up with police in Da Nang to conduct administrative inspections to some hotels in Ngu Hanh Son and Hai Chau districts.

During their inspection visits, the functional bodies found 175 people from North Viet Nam to have gathered at a hotel in Ngu Hanh Son District and had suspicious expression.

These people confessed that they were waiting for two men named Vu Duc Minh and Dinh Hong Quang, both from Ha Noi, to get exported to South Korea by a cruise ship at US$10,000 each.

After appropriating the victims' amount of nearly VND3 billion, Minh and Quang fled by their personal car. On November 16, the men were arrested in Hoa Binh and Ha Noi, and then were relocated to Da Nang.
