Many rare animals discovered in Da Nang residential house

Da Nang police has handed over all the rare and wild animals which had been discovered at a residential house in Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District to local forest rangers for their release back into the nature.

Previously, on December 8, the police seized a number of rare and precious animals kept in captivity in a house located in residential group No. 7, Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District. There were two Physignathus cocincinus, two skunks, one Chinese pond turtle, one Eastern Assamese macaque and one pangolin.

Also through the in-house examination, the law enforcement force discovered 16 kg of frozen animal meat of unknown species.

An initial investigation showed that a resident in Lien Chieu District bought the aforementioned animals from the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum at a cost of more than VND12 million for reselling them to restaurants and pubs across the city.
