Following latest Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairwoman Ngo Thi Kim Yen decision, Lien Chieu District moved from level 2 into level 3 of the city’s four-tier coronavirus alert system at the midday on Thursday, December 9 as the district has emerged as a new hot spot for coronavirus cases.

The Lien Chieu District authorities are taking swift and drastic action in response to the developments of the COVID-19 situation in a flexible and adaptable way in an effort to suppress the virus.

Da Nang recorded 180 new cases of COVID-19 on December 9, in which, 94 were registered in Lien Chieu District. In detail, 31 cases were identified in Hoa Khanh Bac Ward, 27 in Hoa Minh Ward, 16 in Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, 8 in Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, and 12 in Hoa Hiep Bac Ward.

Lien Chieu District now has more than 170,000 inhabitants, and the majority of them are workers working in industrial parks. The district is introducing strict measures applied to an area under alert level 3, and it is enhancing enforcement of COVID-19 rules in order to take action against any violations of such rules.
