Da Nang logs 873 new coronavirus cases on Jan.27
Da Nang documented 873 coronavirus infections on Thursday, January 27, of which 629 were found in the community and the 244 remaining ones were detected during at-home quarantine periods.
Of the aforementioned community-acquired cases, 398 were detected through tests at public and private medical facilities citywide during their intentional visits there for regular medical checkups.
Meanwhile, 194 patients were found to be contract the coronavirus via rapid tests conducted by the staff of ward/commune-levelled medical stations.
The remaining community-based patients comprised 18 employees working at many local production and business establishments, 16 traders at the Hoa Khuong, Hoa Phu and Cam Le markets, one local medical worker and two returnees to Da Nang from other coronavirus-stricken localities nationwide.
Of the day’s count, 944 cases were at a high risk of further community transmission recorded at all local districts: 141 in Son Tra, 126 in Lien Chieu, 115 in Thanh Khe, 85 in Cam Le, 83 in Hoa Vang, 51 in Hai Chau and 26 in Ngu Hanh Son.
Also on the same day, a combined total of 12,523 residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken by the local medical staff for COVID-19 testing, of whom 5,439 tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.
Till date, of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 980,979 have received the first jab of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 961,757 have got the second dose, and 226,465 have accessed the third shot against the highly contagious disease.
