Further 989 cases documented in Da Nang on Jan.25
Da Nang logged an additional 989 coronavirus infections on Tuesday, January 25, of which 692 caught the pathogen in the community and the remaining 297 ones were found during at-home quarantine periods.
Of the aforementioned community-acquired cases, 492 were detected through tests at public and private medical facilities citywide during their intentional visits there for regular medical checkups.
Meanwhile, 182 patients were found to be contract the coronavirus via rapid tests conducted by the staff of ward/commune-levelled medical stations.
As for the remaining community-based infections, eight returnees to Da Nang from other coronavirus-stricken localities nationwide, eight employees working at many local production and business establishments, one trader operating at the downtown Dong Da Market, and one member of a local COVID-19 prevention and control task group were confirmed to contract the coronavirus.
Of the day’s caseload, 929 cases were at a high risk of further community transmission recorded at all local districts: 218 in Lien Chieu, 189 in Thanh Khe, 177 in Cam Le, 162 in Son Tra, 87 in Hai Chau , 51 in Ngu Hanh Son and 45 in Hoa Vang.
Also on the same day, a combined total of 7, 211 residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken by the local medical staff for COVID-19 testing, of whom 6,022 tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.
Till date, of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 980,728 have received the first jab of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 961,393 have got two doses, and 220,249 have received the third shots against the highly contagious disease.
