100% of Da Nang poor households with working capacity to be lifted out of poverty by late 2025

The Da Nang government has issued a plan to implement the national target programme on sustainable poverty reduction in the 2022 - 2025 period in the city with a budget of nearly VND1,093 billion.

Focus will be on supporting poor households to access social services according to the multidimensional poverty line and increase their income and improve life quality.

The city will set sight on achieving specific targets. In detail, the percentage of poor households with working capacity according to the multidimensional poverty line will maintain a reduction of 1-1.5%/year, and by the end of 2024, there will be no social policy families with revolutionary merits become poor ones.

To realise the aforementioned goals, the municipal administration has proposed solutions such as synchronously implementing poverty reduction policies and facilitating the poor to access basic social services, including housing repair, healthcare, education, preferential loans and unscheduled support. 

According to the above-mentioned plan, by the end of 2025, the programme will strive to reduce 100% of poor households with working capacity according to the multidimensional poverty line, and 80% of people with working capacity from poor households will be supported to improve their capacity, knowledge, along with production and business skills.

Heed will be paid to building up and expanding 40 models of poverty reduction and economic development across the city. 

In particular, 100% of the local households living below the city’s poverty thresholds will be facilitated to get loans, employment and health insurance.

Also, 100% of the children from financially needy households to attend school at the right age.

At least 1,200 poor households will receive support in terms of housing.

The municipal government has directed relevant local agencies to organise the implementation of the programme on sustainable poverty reduction in accordance with the regulations, ensuring efficiency, non-overlapping and being suitable with the actual situation.
