Regional weather forecasters say some parts of the central region from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai provinces, including Da Nang, will get soaked with moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms on April 1 and 2 due to the influence of the circulation of the post-tropical remnant low combined with enhanced cold air.

It is predicted that 50-100mm of rain could fall in Quang Binh, 80-150mm in Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue and Quang Nam, 50-150mm in Da Nang and Quang Ngai Province.

Many sections of some downtown streets are flooded.

In the past few days, the city's Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Resscue, and Civil Defence has issued documents directing relevant departments and agencies, localities, and armed forces units to take proactive and necessary mitigation measures in response to the northeast monsoon and heavy rain.

Currently, more than 700 fishing boats hailing from Da Nang and from other coastal localities nationwide are being safely anchored in the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf.

The city’s Border Guard Command is continuing to coordinate with relevant units to guide and arrange safe anchorages at the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf for other fishing boats.
