Intensifying management of 4-wheeled electric vehicles at tourist areas
The Vietnamese Ministry of Transport had just asked cities and provinces to strengthen the management of the pilot operations of 4-wheeled tourist electric vehicles in tourism sites.
Accordingly, in order to ensure safety and improve service quality to serve tourists, the Ministry of Transport requested municipal/ provincial functional forces and relevant agencies to strengthen patrols and inspections of wheeled tourist electric vehicles travelling on certain routes and in tourist areas as prescribed by the municipal/provincial authorities.
The driver of this type of vehicles must have a driver's licence which allows the steering of vehicles of grade B2 or higher (driving cars with up to 9 seats, trucks, tractors and tractors of a tonnage of under 3,500 kg).
The vehicle shall run at the allowed speed with a maximum of 30km/h and is granted with the certificate of technical safety and environmental protection.
Any violations (if any) will be strictly handled in accordance with the regulations with the suspension of operations.
According to the Ministry of Transport, there are currently 35 provinces and cities nationwide, including Da Nang, that have been approved by the Prime Minister to pilot the operation of 4-wheeled vehicles powered by electric energy or gasoline engines to serve tourism in limited areas.
Transport activities, and the pilot operation of 4-wheeled vehicles in particular, after the effective control of the COVID-19 pandemic, aim to well serve vibrant tourism activities in many localities across the country.
