The festival aimed to respond to the Action Month for the Environment, the World Environment Day (June 5), and the Prime Minister-launched ‘Fighting plastic waste’ movement. It attracted the participation of more than 300 Youth Union members and young people across the city.

During the event, the municipal Youth Union deployed 6 specific tasks: resolving 56 environmental pollution hotspots in residential areas, building 15 green, clean and beautiful roads, raising public awareness about water resource protection, cleaning up the environment and embellishing landscapes at 27 martyrs' cemeteries and memorial steles, and implementing the ‘Da Nang students say no to plastic waste’ movement, and the ‘Small plan trip - Sorting Waste to Raise funds for you’ model.

Within the framework of the festival, the Youth Union and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment entered into a cooperation programme to perform tasks in the field of natural resources and environment during the 2022 - 2027 period.

The purpose of the cooperation programme was to promote the spirit of youth and volunteering in environmental protection activities, and effectively implement the city's ‘Building Da Nang into an environmentally friendly city during the 2021 - 2030 period’ project.

On the occasion, the city’s Youth Union organised some environmental competitions for its members, such as ‘I choose the blue beach’, ‘Da Nang students say no to plastic products’, and a knowledge test about environmental protection law.

Also at the programme, the Youth Union awarded the ‘Brave Youth’ Badge from the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to Phan Thanh Phu, residing in Lien Chieu District’s Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, in honour of his brave action to save drowning victims.
