Scorching heat continues in Da Nang into July 1
Viet Nam’s National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting continues to warn residents about high temperatures across Central Viet Nam on Thursday and Friday. Most of the region is under a heat advisory until 5:00pm.
Extreme heat warnings are in place Thursday into Friday for Central Viet Nam, including Da Nang. Excessive heat is expected to continue to scorch Central Viet Nam where daytime temperatures will hover around 35-38 degree Celsius, and even above 38 degree Celsius at isolated places.
The national weather service issues intense heat watches and warnings for Central Viet Nam, Red River Delta and Northern Midlands from Saturday, June 25, and urges people in the warning areas to watch out for sunburn and heat exhaustion.
Already, temperatures as high as 38.4 degrees Celsius scorched Da Nang on Tuesday, June 21. Extreme heat baked Da Nang from June 18 into June 22 with maximum temperatures recorded at 37 -38 degree Celsius.
The weather for Thursday into Sunday, June 26, in the city remains hot with temperatures in highs of 35-36 degree Celsius. Excessive heat is expected from June 27 into June 29 with highs expected to range from 37 to 38 degree Celsius. Da Nang will continue to see extreme heat until July 1 with maximum temperatures expected to touch 35 degree Celsius
The heat and high humidity can cause heat illnesses, such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Health experts are urging people to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air conditioned rooms if possible, and stay out of the sun.
