Early on Monday morning, firefighters from the Da Nang Police Department of Fire Prevention and Fighting were called to a warehouse fire on Hoang Van Thai Street in Lien Chieu District.

Crews were alerted at around 3:50 am.

After receiving an SOS message from the witnesses, 22 fire engines, along with nearly 200 firefighters from the Da Nang Police Department of Fire Prevention and Fighting, rushed to the scene to douse the blaze.

The fire swept through a warehouse of the Central Region Power Construction Material And Transportation Joint Stock Company. The blaze spread rapidly as wooden products and a large quantity of paint solvents and chemicals were available in the factory, which easily caught fire in addition to chemical tank explosion during the fire,  making it difficult and dangerous for the firefighters to tackle it.

No casualties have been reported but all the property in the factory was gutted in the fire.

The fire was under control by around 7:30 am on the same day but there was still a large amount of smoke. Therefore, firefighters kept staying at the scene to spray water to prevent the fire from breaking out again.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and assessments of damage to the company is underway.
