Work starts on building 2 automatic water environment monitoring stations in Vu Gia - Thu Bon river basin
A groundbreaking ceremony of two automatic water environment monitoring stations in the Vu Gia - Thu Bon river basin was held in Quang Nam Province on Thursday by the Da Nang Department of Natural Resources and Environment. This was a cooperation project between Da Nang and Quang Nam Province.

The two stations will be built at the Ai Nghia Hydrological Station located in Ai Nghia Town, Dai Loc District, and the Tu Cau Hydrological Station in Dien Ngoc Ward, Dien Ban Town, both in Quang Nam Province.
The construction of the two stations is expected to cost over VND11 billion funded by the Da Nang budget, and is predicted to be completed within more than 5 months.
The municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment is the project’s investor and manager, whilst the project’s construction unit is the SEIKI Business Trading and Producing JSC.

In his speech at the groundbreaking ceremony, Director of the Da Nang Department of Natural Resources and Environment To Van Hung remarked that the project marked a milestone in the two localities’ efforts in boosting linkage, cooperation and support in the aspects of economy, tourism, natural resource and mineral management and exploitation, and environmental protection.
The two automatic water environment monitoring stations at the Ai Nghia and Tu Cau hydrological stations will provide an important database on environmental parameters such as pH concentration, temperature, dissolved oxygen, water levels, turbidity, total phosphorus and salinity which will be automatically and continuously transmitted to the Departments of Natural Resources and Environment of Quang Nam Province and Da Nang according to regulations.
When the parameters exceed the thresholds, the system will automatically send an alert to the staff directly in charge.
