Floodwater inundates some low-lying riverside roads, vegetable growing areas in Da Nang

On Wednesday, due to the influence of storm Noru, heavy rain poured down onto Quang Nam Province, causing the water level on the Yen rivers to rise rapidly, flooding some riverside and low-lying roads in Cam Le and Hoa Vang districts.

According to the Central Coast Hydro-meteorological Station, the flood water level in the lower reaches of the rivers in Quang Nam increased on Wednesday.

The water level at 1:00 p.m on the same day, measured at the Ai Nghia hydrological station the flood water level on Vu Gia river was at 8.83m, 0.17m below alarm level 3; Thu Bon River at Giao Thuy at 7.51m, equal to alarm level 2 and Hoi An at 1.64m, 7.51m above alarm level 2.

On Wednesday evening, floods on rivers in Quang Nam receded slowly.

Today, on Thursday, flood water level is likely to rise on rivers from Quang Binh to Quang Tri provinces.

Accordingly, the flood amplitude upstream of the rivers will be from 3-5m, downstream from 1.5-2.5m. Flood peaks on rivers in Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces are at alarm level 1 to alarm 2.

In particular, there is a high risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas and local flooding in low-lying and low-lying areas along rivers and urban areas.

As recorded, also on Wednesday, some clean vegetable production areas in Da Nang were flooded.

Through preliminary statistics, the amount of vegetables was slightly damaged because farmers had actively harvested them earlier.

In La Huong safe vegetable production area, located in Hoa Tho Dong Ward, Cam Le District, some parts were inundated, causing damage to vegetables.
