Warnings of localised heavy rain and strong winds issued for parts from Da Nang to Binh Thuan
Viet Nam’s National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting ((NCHMF) has issued a weather warning for localised heavy rain and strong winds in Northern Viet Nam and the parts from Da Nang to Binh Thuan.
Wet and unsettled weather will continue into Saturday night with waves of showers and thunderstorms.
During Saturday night, showers and scattered thunderstorms are expected over the mountainous and midland areas of the Northern region with very heavy rain likely in some places. Forecasters say 20-40mm of rain is expected with over 60mm possible at isolated localtions.
Saturday night also could see another chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms across the parts from Da Nang to Binh Thuan, and the Southern region while few places could receive heavy downpours. The total rainfall amount will be 20mm to 50mm in common in these areas while more than 80mm of rain could fall in some places.
Thunderstorms can produce tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds, national forecasters has warned.
The rain will reduce significantly from Sunday, November 27 over the above-mentioned areas.
