Young, brave police officer involved in saving people many times
Over 10 years working in the police force, Captain Huynh Minh Hoang from the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Team On River under the Da Nang Police Division of Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue, has actively been involved in extinguishing dozens of fires across the city, saving two people from drowning, and successfully preventing four people from having suicidal thoughts.

Not afraid of danger
Over the past decade, Captain Huynh Minh Hoang and his teammates are not afraid of difficulties and dangers when diving under the rough water to carry out search and rescue work, and firefighting activities. They have successfully saved two people from drowning, prevented 4 others from having suicidal thoughts, and recovered more than 10 victims' bodies.
Over the past years, dozens of people for various reasons have come to the Thuan Phuoc Bridge to end their lives. Whenever a heartbreaking incident occurs, the 33-year-old police officer and his teammates immediately arrive the scene and dive under the cold water to search for missing people.
Hoang recalled, about 6 years ago, he timely detected and saved a ‘chip chip’ diver from drowning when he participated in a fire-fighting and rescue practice on the Han River.
In addition, in 2017, Senior Lieutenant Huynh Minh Hoang directly successfully saved a "crazy" man who was about to commit suicide on the Thuan Phuoc Bridge.
Captain Hoang is one of the police officers having a lot of experience in firefighting. He directly participates in extinguishing fires on fishing boats anchored on the Han River or the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf.
On September 15, after discovering fishing boat NA-90224-TS anchored at the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf on fire, Captain Hoang quickly alerted officers and soldiers to coordinate with relevant forces to stamp out the fire in order to prevent it from spreading to nearby fishing boats.

He also is an active member of the 'Mau Nong Yeu Thuong' (Warm Blood) Club with the desire to save lives of needy patients.
Hoang is trusted by his unit’s leaders and is loved by his teammates. He has been continuously honoured with the ‘Advanced Soldier’ title since 2016. He also received many awards from the Director of the municipal Police Department for his outstanding achievements in fire prevention and fighting, and COVID-19 prevention and control in 2020.
