Chilly weather continues to blanket Da Nang
Da Nang and elsewhere in the mid-central region from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai provinces continue to experience moderate to heavy rain, and northeast winds at level 3 in inland areas and levels 4-5 in coastal areas, according to the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
A strong cold spell is hitting central provinces from Quang Binh to Thua Thien Hue, whilst cold front will see temperatures plummet in the parts from Da Nang to Quang Ngai Province.
The lowest temperature of 10-13 degrees Celsius is recorded in Quang Binh Province, 13-16 degrees Celsius in Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue provinces, 11-13 degrees Celsius in mountainous areas, and 15 - 18 degrees Celsius from Da Nang to Quang Ngai Province.
Strong northeasterly winds at level 7, and gustiness of levels 8 to 9, along with rough seas with waves as high as 4-6, are forecast for the waters of the Hoang Sa Archipelago.
The coastal areas stretching from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai are forecast to experience rough sea with waves as high as 2-4.5m, and northeasterly winds at levels 7-9.
During the influence of the intense cold snap, fishing vessels operating at sea need to take safety precautions.
