Da Nang's workers excited to return to work after Tet

After enjoying a break of seven days for the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2023 holiday, thousands of workers from inside and outside the city are excited to be back at work in industrial parks.

According to the March 29 Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company located in Thanh Khe District, 95% of the company’s total employees have returned to work after Tet in accordance with their commitments to the company

Mr. Huynh Van Chinh, the company’s CEO, said that the company’s employees were excited to be back to the office after Tet. The company's leaders used their company’s loudspeaker system to extend Lunar New Year greetings and give encouragement to their employees, as well as give Li xi” or lucky money to their employees before the restarting of manufacturing production in the company.

“The company's leaders wish all employees good health, happiness, and success in this Lunar New Year. Our company targets to continue to expand the scale of production. We has set our goals for 2023 to boost solidarity between our employees in order to complete all production orders to ensure their quality standards and increase income for our employees," said Mr. Chinh.

Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hien, a worker of the March 29 Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company remarked: “Before Tet, the company paid Tet bonuses for its employees and gave Tet gifts to us. With the spirit of joy and excitement, I returned to work after Tet in accordance with  the company’s work schedules. I believe that 2023 will be a prosperous year for our company, and our income will be increased, so I will try to work harder and go hand in hand with our company to develop it in a sustainable manner."

Meanwhile, Mr Dau Minh Cong, the Chairman of the Trade Union Organisation of the Heineken Vietnam Brewery Company Limited located in Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, Lien Chieu District, said that all of the company's employees have returned to the office after Tet.

"Apart from lucky money from the company’s leaders, the Trade Union organization also gave red envelopes to the company’s employees and gave encouragement to them in efforts to help them stick together and create workplace excitement for them", Mr. Cong added.

After receiving encouragement from leaders of the company and its Trade Union organization, Ms. Nguyen Phuong, an employee of the Heineken Vietnam Brewery Company Limited touchedly shared: "The company’s Trade Union organization carefully prepared red envelopes for the employees, and directly gave them to us, as well as gave encouragement to us, making us happy. On the first working day after Tet, I am very excited about the seeing of my colleagues. Wishing all of the company’s employees good health and happiness in this lunar year in order to achieve our life goals."

According to a report by the Trade Union organization of the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Parks (IPs), more than 95% of the companies located in IPs returned to work on January 30 while employees of some manufacturing businesses, including Keyhinge Toys Vietnam Joint Stock Company, Fujikura Automotive Vietnam Ltd., Mabuchi Motor Da Nang Ltd were back at work on January 27 (the 6th day of the Lunar New Year). Meanwhile, some others allow their employees to return to work on February 1 (the 11th day of the first lunar month).

Mr Nguyen Thanh Trung, the Chairman of the Trade Union organization of the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Parks said that in their efforts to encourage workers to return to work after Tet, the majority of manufacturing businesses worked with grassroots Trade Unions to organize lucky draws for their employees and give lucky money valued at VND 100,000 to VND 1 million to them.

“Most of the employees who were absent from work after Tet include those living in other parts of the country and they were allowed to take annual leave by their employers. Among them were some people who voluntarily quit their jobs. The Trade Union organization of the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Parks has directed grassroots trade unions to continue to work closely with business owners to ensure best care for their employees. Special attention should be paid to encouraging the remaining employees to return to work as soon as possible in order to stick with their companies longer to develop their companies in a sustainable manner," said Trung.
