On Tuesday morning (the 10^th day of the first lunar month), leaders of the Party Committee, and People's Committee of Hai Chau District, launched New Year tree planting festivals at the Hai Chau Village Communal House, the Phuoc Ninh Martyrs’ Cemetery, the Cultural House of Nam Duong Ward, and the Ngoc Lan Kindergarten.

The annual festival aimed to encourage civil servants, public employees, and citizens of Hai Chau District to plant and take care of trees, as well as develop green areas at residence areas and workplace.

In addition, localities and schools across the district were encouraged to replica the ‘Green School’ model in 2023, promote the planting, care and protection of trees, and maintain the tree planting campaign to protect the school environment.

Hai Chau District will focus on developing various forms of increasing green areas on roofs and facades in high-rise buildings, bridges and indoor green spaces of households, offices, agencies and businesses in order to improve air quality, and build green and clean landscapes.

Similarly, the authorities of Hoa Vang District suggested localities and units continue to raise public awareness about the benefits of trees for livable and sustainable communities such as providing oxygen, enhancing air quality and climate amelioration, conserving water, preserving soil, supporting wildlife, and improving the natural landscape.

Also on the same day, the Da Nang Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the municipal Veterans’ Association, the local Women's Union, and many localities and schools across the Hoa Vang District, simultaneously launched New Year tree planting festivals to express eternal gratitude to Uncle Ho.
